Senaru Routes
The most popular climb at the moment is Mount Rinjani, which is located on Lombok Island. One of the famous climbing routes is the Senaru route with its footpath. This climbing route is considered one of the most popular trekking routes on Lombok Island because it has amazing natural views, which include lush forests, beautiful waterfalls and long grasslands. This route is open to all climbers of all experience levels. However, good speed and physical strength are still needed to adapt to fairly steep terrain conditions.
The Senaru Route has the longest forest track on Mount Rinjani. From the Mount Rinjani National Park Office in Senaru, you will walk through the vast Senaru Forest.
From Senaru Basecamp to POS 1 Senaru, you will be presented with views of trees and the sound of birds chirping on the left and right sides of the route. From Senaru basecamp to POS 1 the estimated travel time is 1-2 hours. The cool conditions mean that climbers don’t need to worry if they walk during the day. From Post 1 to POS 2 Senaru is still fairly sloping like the route in Sembalun, but the difference is that you will continue to pass through a forest area. The maximum estimated time from POS 1 Senaru to POS 2 is 2-3 hours drive.

POS 3 Senaru is the boundary of the Senaru Forest towards Pelawangan Senaru. From POS 3 to the Pelawangan Post, Senaru, no longer going through the forest, you can continue your journey through the sandy and rocky track until you reach the Pelawangan Post, Senaru.
